Have other food allergies in addition to your nut allergy? Or, maybe you have a wheat or a dairy allergy and came across this site through a Google search? If that’s the case, welcome! Having food allergies is completely normal. In fact, even major celebrities that you’ve definitely heard of have food allergy diagnoses and sensitivities. For example, see my earlier article 15 Celebrities With Nut Allergies. Celebrities have to act just like everyone else when needing to be careful in avoiding their offending allergens. But, there’s no reason having an allergy should slow you down. These celebrities haven’t let their food allergies stop them and neither should you!

    1. Sabrina Carpenter

    Sabrina Carpenter is an American actress and singer allergic to apples and peaches. She played Maya on Disney’s Girl Meets World. In 2020, Sabrina publicly confirmed her allergy to apples when she was invited to make fried apple pie on the Kelly Clarkson show. When Kelly asked Sabrina if she wanted to taste a piece of the pie she replied and said, “I’m allergic to apples.” Sabrina then followed up thanking Kelly for having her as a guest on the show via Twitter.

    2. Ariana Grande

    Ariana Grande is a super celebrity. She’s a huge star. And she has a food allergy to tomatoes and bananas. In December of 2011, her food allergy status went public when she took to Twitter and gave rise to the #NoBananaClub hashtag.

    It was in 2019 that Ariana discovered she was also allergic to tomatoes. She made a post on her Instagram account to share with her fans, saying she recently ate tomatoes that caused her throat to close. USA Today followed up to her Instagram update and wrote the article ‘Nothing More Unfair': Ariana Grande Cancels Tour Dates Over Allergic Reaction to Tomatoes about the tour dates she had to cancel due to her recovery.

    3. Drew Barrymore

    Drew Barrymore played a zombie on the Netflix show Santa Clarita Diet, but in real life she shares more similarities with vampires. According to #47 of BOOMSbeat's 50 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Drew Barrymore, she’s allegedly allergic to garlic, as well as bee stings, perfume, and coffee.

    4. Emmy Rossum

    Emmy Possum is an actress known for her television show Shameless, and her breakout role in The Phantom of the Opera (2004). When she was interviewed on TMZ, she was asked about having celiac disease and being gluten-free.

    5. Kenton Duty

    Kenton Duty is an actor known for his role playing Young Jacob on Lost, and Gunther on The Disney Channel show Shake It Up. Kenton’s allergic to chocolate and wheat. In the article Teen Star Kenton Duty on Food Allergies and Bullying by the Huffington Post, Kenton speaks out about allergy advocacy and why it’s important to him.

    6. Justin Bieber

    Justin Bieber is a global phenomenon. He’s a Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician. He’s also allergic to gluten. In 2019, Bieber announced his “official” status through his instagram story. 

    In the Gluten-Free Living article Justin Bieber ‘Officially Allergic’ to Gluten, Justin is quoted saying, “Worst news ever I’m officially allergic to gluten.”

    7. Mandy Moore

    The This Is Us American actress took an allergy test after having health concerns with her gut and shared the results of her test on her Instagram account. According to The Mighty's article Mandy Moore Shares How She's ‘Holding Herself Accountable' to Her Illness, Mandy's test indicated several food sensitivities, the most concerning to her being cow's milk and salmon.

    BONUS: Tiger Woods

    Okay, so this one isn't about food allergies. But is rather a demonstration that, despite the odds, each one of us can persevere and be successful.

    Tiger Woods is an American golfer that holds a number of achievements in golf. As reported in the Los Angeles Times article Ailment Is Nothing to Sneeze At, he’s allergic to grass, trees, dust, and pollen.

    In 2003, ESPN reported that Tiger Woods's father said that his son’s biggest challenge “might be the weather,” going on to say, “The weather will affect him differently than the other guys because Tiger is allergic to everything on the golf course.”
